Sahm wikkelaars worden gebruikt voor veel verschillende soorten garens en tapes en bij uiteenlopende toepassingen.
Zo worden de wikkelaars o.a veel ingezet voor productie en verwerking van garens en tapes van aramide, Dyneema, carbon, glas en kunstgras.
Goed wikkelen is een vak op zich met als uiteindelijk doel: een cone die zich goed laat afwikkelen.
